Objective: Operates the St. Luke's
Bookstore (located in the Fellowship Hall)
which, in part, supports the congregation's Student Fund.
Mission Project: Support for students
preparing for full time church work with
their prayers, cards, letters and gifts.
Objective: To make quilts for World
Relief, Orphan Grain Train and disaster
victims. Some quilts are sold to provide money for their mission
project and sewing supplies.
Mission Project: Lutheran Bible Translators
Objective: To build, maintain and promote
the church library. We also repair
hymnals as needed.
Mission Project: Navajo Evangelical
Lutheran Mission in
Chinle and Rock Point, AZ.
Objective: Members work behind the scenes
for the Sunday School, care for
the bulletin boards in the Schneider Education Center, maintain the
confirmation gowns and volunteer at the Upscale Retail Shop certain
days a month.
Mission Project: Bethesda Lutheran Home -
Watertown, WI
Objective: Members are the decision making
body of St. Luke's Pre-School
and have multiple responsibilities keeping the Pre-School running.
Mission Project: TeenChallenge
International of Wisconsin Rapids.
Objective: Members visit patients in
Riverview Manor, Family Heritage and
Edgewater Nursing Homes. They also visit members who have
extended stays at Riverview Hospital and in private homes.
Mission Project: Lutheran Braille Workers of Yacaipa, CA.
Objective: Members design and make special
table centerpieces, make the
personalized individual banners and the baptismal cloths given
to the baptized child.
Mission Project: Camp Luther - Three Lakes, WI.
Objective: Members are responsible for the
Altar Area. This includes filling the
individual cups and cleaning vessel. They also maintain the linens,
flowers, plants and altar frontals.
Mission Project: Secret Friends 2006 Confirmation Class
Objective: Members assemble the monthly
Luke Lines for mailing, assist in
keeping addresses for college students current, send cards to
Service men & women and prepare other special mailings.
Mission Project: Dale and Karen Smith - Bemidji, MN.
Objective: Members make nursing home
visits, make birthday corsages & special
corsages for residents 100 years of age or older and run the Bingo
Party once a month.
Mission Project: Members help with
Lutheran Church Services each month at
Family Heritage Nursing Home. Members also help assembling
bulletins.
Objective:
The purpose of
this circle is to welcome the new babies born into St. Luke’s
congregation and to provide Christian fellowship and encouragement for the
parents. A flower is placed in the altar area of the church upon the birth of a
baby and an announcement is put in the weekend bulletin notes. Following
the weekend service, a member of the circle will take the flower and a prepared
casserole to the home and verbally express congratulations and well-wishes to
the family. Follow up phone calls and cards will be sent periodically through
the
first year of the child’s life.
